Wow that made my head hurt lol.

Don't listen to your friend. He's telling you to get stuff you really don't need. i7 965s are for people who love to overclock the crap out of their cpus and have the money to waste on it. i7 920 is an amazing processor that will serve you just fine. I don't know why you have 2 295s. What is your screen res?

I don't know why you are asking ATI or nvidia when we've already told you what card to get. Its not really about what brand you get but the performance of the card for your needs.

Common noob myths is just the title of a thread we made for common mistakes of beliefs many 'noobs' have when first joining the forum. By reading through it you may clear some things up. the hardware stickies have all different guides on different hardware and how to overclock, things like that. It's worth while your reading through them.

As pinscher said, the i7 965 is really a high end enthusiast cpu and is not necessary for you at all. Even the i7 920 with a little overclock easily surpasses the 965 at stock settings. It is obviously not worth the 700 or so more. that would make it a price ratio of 1:2.5 , you clearly do not get 250% more performance from that chip for that much more price.

you should get your brother/you to read by and learn these rules that some ofthe people here a tech forums made a while back, good set of rules to go by;
