Hi, im upgrading PC new mobo+psu and the likes. Just wanted to get peples opinion on if they think i should spend the extra cash and get dual core3800+ x2 amd athlon 322$ @ newegg.com

I mean for gameing is it really gona help me? or should i just go with a 3800+ amd athlon 64? i think the single processor would possibly be better for certain games nowadays but what about in the future when most programs/applications support dual core. JUST Wanting your guy's opinion

trust me, as an owner of an X2 i can say that they work brilliantly. i can play HL2 beautifully and that is supposedly one of the most cpu intensive games made. the 3800+ manchester is more than adequate for anything you could throw at it for a while and you also get the additional advantages of dual cores: mainly multitasking. i can play a game and encode a dual layer dvd to single layer in about 20 minutes if i split the processes between the cores.
