Default Dual core GPU from AMD, next January

Quote:
AMD-ATI will release R670 graphic card composed by two RV670 cores in next Jan to against NVIDIA GeForce 8800 Ultra.

As the base of R670, RV670 Radeon HD 2900 PRO will launch in this Q4 and replace RV570 Radeon 1950 PRO. It will be between R600 and RV630. RV670 will use 55nm technology and it is also the AMD-ATI only this kind of product in 2007.

We thought it is more possible to use single card-dual chip while not dual card-dual chip mode.

If R670 come on time, then, AMD-ATI possible release R700 6 months later (around July, 2008) and upgrade to R780 at the end of 2008.

The only bad news is that R670 will miss this Christmas Day.

If the release for the GeForce 9 series is correct on Q4 2007, then the 9 series will have the advantage of the holiday season.

To combat the Ultra? Man ATI are getting a bit behind, they should be setting their sights on the 9 series. Try quad core ATI...

R700 is supposed to come out mid-next year. It seems ATI is about 6 months behind Nvidia.

Was that article written by someone in a different country then translated or a 12 year old on a sugar high?

If ATi dont revise that core befoer they do this, then i see power consumption and heat output being a large problem.

*eye n head twitches*

WAAHOO!!! The refresh R670 is arriving. My original plan was to wait for the HD 2900 XTX, then get a R670 for crossfire but of course i have no job so ya.

question b1gapl, u think it's going to be PCI-E 2.0 or no? If not then i wont get, im looking into thee next-gen of graphics cards n i NEED PCI-E 2.0 to settle my needs.
