when it comes to the X6800 i think it is pointless to get.

you wont see a performance difference between it and the e6600 which is a third of the price

Ok so... I have heard recently that EvE is having trouble with dual core processors and the dev's are not going to have a permanent fix for this for quite some time. So... this changes things a bit... one thing I would like to know is what the equivalent to the pentium dual core is with an AMD processor. Also why are more people on the new pentium than AMD? Secondly I would like to know of the best single core pcu and a possible build with that. I am still looking over all of the threads. I want this build to be a monster. I have taken all advice into account. Thank you for the wealth of information up to this point...

ok heres a benchy for cpus. Now before you jump to the conculsion that the fx-60 is better, the conroes are overclocking monsters. The chart only measures them on stock. I have my e6600 on 3.3ghz air...most ppl are getting 3.4 to 3.6 on air. As far as single core...i guess the amd opteron would be a good choice, but a dual core will be more future proof.

heres an article on conroe overclocking just so you can get an idea :p.

okay dude, heres the deal even if that game eve had problems running on both core. It would still be awsome if it used only one core. I dont see the point in aiming a cmputer this expensive at ONE game. That is stupid, becuase by the time you get it all thougt out and build eve will be a thing of the past.

go with the e6600 with your budget it would be stupid to go with the 6800 or the kentsfield. You'll get more performance of the 8800gtx or maybe sli'd 8800gtx.
