Default Does a 5-6" tall 8x8" mini-itx case exist?

I've been searching on and off for a few weeks now and the closest I've found is 4" tall, or Aopens S20 stackable cube case which is discontinued. I'm building a gaming PC that can fit in my backpack. It would use the mini gtx that Nvidia released(mounted over the mobo with ribbon cable), an intel processor with a low form factor heatsink, and an external power adapter... just to give you an idea. I figured I'd check here before just ordering or making something custom. Has anyone come across one? Many thanks all.

Won't be able to do an external power brick with a GPU unless you can modify a big 300w+ brick to work with the board.

You can look at the HTPC cases and the TFX or Mini ITX power supplies to see if that suits your needs

HTPC cases:
HTPC Cases, Media Center Cases - Newegg.com

Mini ITX:

TFX Power supply:

They do make a pico power supply that you can use a brick with but it's not going to be for any serious gaming pc

This case is 7.5x8.2x2.4 and uses a pico power supply:

The small form factor GPU made by Nvidia is 60w. I know what I'm doing

If I get internal psu, defeats my purpose of building this machine. Thanks Joe C, I'll take a look at those though.

It all depends on which specific GPU you're talking about. They make a 670 and a 760 which both take over 150w, and currently I believe they're going to release (or have not sure yet) a 970 ITX card but the pull on that will be still over 100 (has an 8pin still). If you're talking about an SFF card odds have it your gaming experience won't be what you would expect. Now, they have the 750ti which takes ~66w but I don't know of any SFF or LP cards made with that chip. Still though, you have to take into account the draw of the CPU too and you're looking at over 100w worth of brick. The best I've seen is like 90 which won't power the GPU at the same time.

That pico power supply is 160w
Quote:

160 watts 12V DC output
24 pin ATX connector
100% silent, fanless operation
Smallest DC-DC ATX design anywhere

it's not really designed for a graphics card but you might be able to use it with rail extensions

Yea, I wouldn't try using that at all.

Edit: No 6 pin either for the GPU.

It's really more of a converter than a power supply, you'll need a pretty beefy power brick to output 160w

I wonder if he could use something like this with one of those Eurocom 300w bricks. He doesn't need 300w, but it could do 100w continuous during gaming without a sweat and if this thing can handle 100w continuous that's an option. Tie a low power Haswell i5 with a 750ti and then just need to find the chassis.

This place sells a 192w brick with a pico power supply but I've never made any purchases from them
picoPSU-160-XT with 192W Adapter Power Kit

Edit: I am not impressed
