how bout we just help this guy get what he wants. I think 7600gt will play ccs with about med to high settings. Or you could get the 7900gs or the ati card which is better.

well i got my 7900gs for 100 after 50 dollars in rebates.

I would just upgrade the mobo so you can get pci e cards.

I just skipped a few posts but, to nickm..
What do you consider maxing out? What resolution? Because I can tell you right now, with my 3700+ @ 2.97 ghz, 1gb of DDR494 2-3-3-6, 7900gs @ 612/1814 I cannot max BF2 at 1280x1024 and sustain decent FPS's, so I think you may be mistaken.

The source engine is very aged, its like what 3+ years old now? It doesn't demand that much power, my ati x800 xl 256mb agp can pretty much run CS:S maxed out too at decent FPS.

lol ya.. but it's an old game... but i already commented on a 7600gt on cs:s

.... a 7600gt destroys cs:s at 1600x1200 and u wouldn't notice anything going from x4 to x8

but an x1950xt would destroy games... but it comes at a 200+ price range for a AGP Card and u might need a PSU upgrade
