Default Discontinuing maximus formula

is this true. Just a rumor i heard, it might be just a special edition or something but will this board be unavailable soon ?

They have discontinued the Se version, and are coming out with a REV2 version. Theres not really a huge diff between the regular version and the REV2, just some tiny refinements, and a newer name to boost maximus sales.

It never fails, I buy something and it becomes obsolete. Oh well, thats life and technology. I still like it.

X38 wont be obsolete anytime soon. Only thing coming out to replace the x38 is the x48, which is the x38 but will only support DDR3. After that you'll be looking at a brand new socket/chipset for the new intel processorts coming out in late 2009.

I did not really mean obsolete, more like new improved design. I am not into ddr3 anyway, to much $ for what you get. Compared to my old Dell XPS, I think I will be extremely happy with it.
