Deneb will be around $300 upon release. But AMD has a way of dropping pricing on their chips real quickly. So eventually it should be cheaper then the Core i7.

Deneb will NOT outperform the Core i7's. But Deneb unlike Core i7's will be able to use both DDR3 ram and DDR2 ram. So when DDR3 ram is more affordable you'd only require a AM3 motherboard and some DDR3 ram.

By then, DDR3 RAM will be as cheap as today's 800MHz RAM, because I remember not too long ago, 800MHz RAM kits were in the hundreds.

That's the point, the Deneb will give great performance for those who currently have AM2 boards. Which means they don't have to worry about new boards and ram until they go down in price.

Oh and when they finally do pick up a decent AM3 board and DDR3 ram. All they do is take their Deneb and drop it right into their new board.
