Default difference between dual-core and duo

What's really the difference, besides speed?
For example, take the dual-core e2220 and the core-duo e4500:

Why does Intel have a different name for each? Aren't they both dual cores?

Look at the specs chart. The e4500 has more cache, although its 200mhz slower. Other than that, theyre the same chip, just named differently.

Thanks, that's what I figured and that's what I wanted to know...if there was different architecture.
