Default Did I F up?

Hey guys, I bought a 6800GT video card with my new system:

X2 3800+

2 Gigs of RAM

160 GB Seagate HDD SATA

DVDRW

DVDR/CDRW

A8N-E Motherboard

Did I screw up because I did not order a 7800GT / 7800GTX, what do you guys think?

If you had the money to buy a 7800 then you might have but if you didnt, the 6800 will serve you just fine. Even with a 6800 that will be a nice machine.

If you had the money for a 7800GT, you REALLY messed up bad. In most cases, the 7800GT beats the 6800GT by 40fps.

I did not have the extra $$$ for the 7800GT whe ni was buying my machine, I bought all this and put it together, figure in about 3-4 months i can put up my 6800GT on sale on Ebay and buy a 7800GT when i get some more funds in, or wait for the next one beyond 7800GTX to come out so the GTX drops in price.

Not only that, but you could've gotten a card with the same performance for 80 bucks less, 6800 GS.

money is scarce at the moment for various personal reasons, so I could not go beyond the 6800GT, just wondering if and or how it messed me up heh.

When i was checking out the reviews on the cards, the GS consistently dropped about 20-30 FPS from what the 6800GT can handle.

IF money is tight, then I think you did really good.

Get whatever you can out of the 6800GT then when you can afford a 7800GT or GTX or what ever comes out next, sell that 6800GT to a friend or something.... Then again, it's always nice to have a back up card, just in case... I've been in that, "Just in case" situation and didn't have a spare card... So i was S.O.L

the 6800GT will last a decent time, the 7800GT will last longer

but the 6800GT and 7800GT prices are the same

YEA YOU DID!

CLEARLY YOU CAN GET A EVGA SLI BOARD AND A 7800GT COMBO HERE FOR $360$!! http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...233&CatId=2023

THE 6800GT IS A DECENT CARD BUT I WOULDNT HAVE BOUGHT IT
LIKE (PZERO) WAS SAYING, THE 7800GT AND THE 6800GT ARE THE SAME PRICES SOME TIMES THE 6800GT SELLS FOR MORE. I WOULD RMA THE 6800GT!

I MEAN SERIOUSLY DUDE IF YOU WANTED TO UPGRADE YOUR SYSTEM YOU HAD THE CHANCE TO MAKE A BIG LEAP IN TO THE BIG DADDY VIDEO CARDS, AND YOU DIDNT TAKE IT. INSTEAD YOUR ROLLING ON A 6800GT THAT AVERAGES 5600 IN 3DMARK05
TRUST ME I KNOW THAT ITS A FAST CARD, AND ITS GOT SM3 AND ALL BUT, IT CANNOT COMPARE TO THE 7800GT.
