which of these two board is better
1. ASUS A8N-SLI Premium
2. DFI LP UT nF4 SLI-D

and what is the best non SLI board just out of interest

DFI Nf4 SLi-D though the SLI-DR is better and teh SLI-DR expert is ever better

what sort of power does the msi require

24 pin ATX connector, being a PCI-E board.

the difference betweeen the DFI and MSI board is that the DFI board can give up to 4V to each RAM disk

I have ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe and it is the best mobo I have ever owned! I have not owned a DFI though, so no help there. But I do know that ASUS has never let me down as a gamer before so I have stuck with them. Either way, I think either should be a great pick after hearing how great the DFI are as-well.

with an msi you can probably settle with a 450 watt psu. though never cheap out on one ~_~
