Dell Power supplies

Hi. Does anyone know if it is possible to replace a dell power supply with one made from a different company.

Im planning on rebuilding my desktop pc. I currently have a dimension 9100: xp sp2, 3.0ghz p4, 2gb ddr2 ram, 256mb ati radeon x850xt platinum edition, hdtv

I was hoping to buy a new bigger case, a new mother board, and 600w psu, and add my ram and hdd etc from my computer.

For a while you couldnt even mixmatch dell psu's and mobo's. I would do it but thats just me.

Dell uses a proprietary size, the connectors are the same for all PSUs, so if you're moving into a new case it won't matter.

If you're replacing all that, it doesn't matter.

PCP&P makes PSUs for use with Dells.

cheers ill prob do it then cause i dont realy use my desktop anymore cause my laptop is much better.
