Dell had already announced that if there was enough of a public outcry for them to produce AMD boxes that they would.
I guess the public was finally loud enough... and Intel couldn't hide the payoffs under the table anymore.
Either way, a Dell is still a Dell... you get what you pay for, which is usually a lot less than you thought you got.
