Ok for the past several months I have been researching and researching my new system build. Not my first by any means but my biggest budget $2400.

Now it is time to start buying and putting together. Need a little advice for yall If I could. I thank you in advance.

Case: XGBOX.COM

Ok some thoughts on case. Cases are personal and my whole home office has a medieval theme to it and I collect everything Dragon so if you knew me this would make perfect sense. If you read the 3rd review on the XGBOX website at wargamer it looks like the power supply would be enough I am prepared to buy a 700W Toughpower series If I need to. My first question is what do you think?

MB: Newegg.com - DFI LP LT X48-T2R LGA 775 Intel X48 ATX Intel Motherboard - Intel Motherboards

CPU: Please help me here I am stuck between a Q6600 and a E8400.

I am going to be overclocking. Some suggestions.

RAM: Newegg.com - mushkin 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Desktop Memory

Video Card: Newegg.com - SAPPHIRE 100225L Radeon HD 3870 512MB 256-bit GDDR4 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFire Supported Video Card - Desktop Graphics / Video Cards

Hard Drives: Here is where I could use some advice. I was thinking a Raptor for the OS and 500GB drive for storage. Any suggestions???

DVD Burner: Newegg.com - LITE-ON Black 20X DVD+R 8X DVD+RW 8X DVD+R DL 20X DVD-R 6X DVD-RW 12X DVD-RAM 16X DVD-ROM 48X CD-R 32X CD-RW 48X CD-ROM 2MB Cache SATA DVD Burner with LightScribe - CD / DVD Burners

Sound Card: Either a Newegg.com - bluegears b-Enspirer 7.1 Channels 24-bit 192KHz PCI Interface Sound Card - Sound Cards or a Newegg.com - Creative 70SB046A00000 7.1 Channels 24-bit 192KHz PCI Interface Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeGamer Fatal1ty Professional Series - Sound Cards any pros and cons to the two would be a help.

Speakers: XtremeGear / CREATIVE LABS INSPIRE P7800 7.1 SURROUND SOUNDS SPEAKER SYSTEMS

Monitor: Newegg.com - Gateway FHD2400 Black-Silver 24" 3ms DVI Widescreen LCD Monitor w/ 4-port USB Hub and Height & Pivot Adjustments 400 cd/m2 1000:1 - LCD Monitors

OS: Newegg.com - Microsoft Windows Vista 64-Bit Ultimate for System Builders Single Pack DVD - Operating Systems

I already have a Logitech G15 and a G5 mouse.

Ok I understand I have some money left on my budget. So any advice help would be appreciated. Also some advice on a CPU cooler.

Thank you in advance.

you probably have a lot left on the budget, so i'd go with like an SLI board and get some SLI cards maybe?

What will this computer be used for? And I would go quad for sure

it can if you're an audiophile and can crank up the sound with EAX.

also to the OP i would reccommend going with an nvidia setup instead of crossfire only because there's more performance there.

what i would do is sli 8800gtx's or 9800gtx's or even ultra's if you wanted.

lol audiophile is an actual word......
