Default is ddr3 worth it?

is DDR3 worth it?
my mate wants to upgrade his pc, but i'm not sure if ddr3 will ever really get off the ground.

I know DDR2 is good enough; but is ddr3 worth the extra cash you pay?

I think waiting for the price to drop would be a good idea?

Thanks in advance,

Jordan.

Waiting is definitely a good idea. DDR3 is extremely expensive at the moment and doesn't offer much over DDR2.

Also you only need to post once

To add to that, DDR2 is dirt cheap at the moment.

I think before too long, DDR3 might start showing some real world advantages, and ultra-enthusiasts might start using it, and the process of price drop will begin, but until then, it doesn't make a great deal of sense right now.

deffinatly not worth the extra money, with ddr3 u will get maybe 2-3% more speed then ddr2, for alot more money, ddr2 is the only way to go right now because its so cheap

DDR3 has not gone mainstream yet and is at the moment super expensive stick with DDR2 until DDR3 is the mainstream rams.
