I am in the process of upgrading my PC to C2D. Right now I am just looking at the best prices I can get.

I am going to buy the following:

1. Intel C2D E6600
2. Most likely ASUS P5B Deluxe motherboard. (I have used ASUS in the past for all my upgrades and did not have any problems).
3. 2GB 6400 DDR2 Memory
4. New video card and power supply.

This is the list of supported memory for the mobo as indicated in the manual.

1024MB MICRON 5JAIIZ9DQQ DS MT16HTF12864AY-80EA3
1024MB MICRON 6CD22D9GKX DS MT16HTF12864AY-80ED4
1024MB CORSAIR Heat-Sink Package DS CM2X1024-6400PRO
1024MB CORSAIR Heat-Sink Package DS CM2X1024-6400C4
1024MB Crucial Heat-Sink Package DS BL12864AA804.16FA

The bold one is the memory I was going to get, but so far the cheapest price I could fined is around $250.00.

Below is the link from newegg.com of the same type of memory

Does that mean that brands like G.SKILL, OSZ, Patriot, which are slightly cheaper will work also, or should I stick to what is in the manual. By the way the Corsair memory that I was going to get is also in the list from newegg.
