Hi folks,

I'm about to start my first build and I have a question about the type of RAM I can use with my mobo/cpu. I bought a gigabyte mobo with the new 965 chipset and it's FSB runs at 1066/800. The CPU I bought is a pentium D 840 which has a FSB of 800. So my question is, can I use DDR2 800 ram which has a higher speed (1066) than my cpu? It seems like I should be able to set the speed of the RAM lower in the Bios but I just wanted to make sure before I blow 200 dollars. If I can use DDR2 800 I have a few more questions: The motherboard states that the RAM needs to be 1.8 volt. The closest DDR2 800 (2 x 1 Gigabyte) kit I could find runs at 1.9v...is this ok? Finally, will I really see a boost in performance over DDR2-667 RAM?

Thanks in advance for any replies. :)
