on my dfi board i can already get it up to 4v

Then, there isn't much need for you to get it:D

It's mostly used for motherboards that can't crank up vdimm as high as DFI LP mobos.

Indeed, I think that even with a DDR booster, the voltage on a 2.8b-max motherboard would go to maybe 3.5v. Lanparty in definately a special breed.

Hmm. I think it goes into the slot for the memory, and then the memory plugs into the booster.

Don't worry too much about it, you'll never need one.

DDR boosters are kind of dangerous. they do work but they can supply horribly fluctuating voltages. as already has been pointed out the purpose is to boost the voltage supplied to ram to increase overclocks. they are really only useful for BH-5 chips because i don't know of much else that can tolerate that sort of voltage
