curious on heatsink material....

Wikipedia says silver has a higher thermal conductivity then copper. I know it's expensive...but what if a proc heatsink was made out of pure silver. Can you expect great temperatures? It's probably heavier then copper too, so that would be an issue.

I think copper is the most conductive, that is why wire and cooling pipes are made out of it.

at about 50x the cost of copper, I don't believe it's gain is enough to "waste" precious silver

Yeah, copper is used more than silver merely because of the cost

cost benifit analysis.... you get ~7% better heat transfer but silver is ~70x more valuable.

go ahead and make yourself a heatsink.... you might be better off getting some exxonmobile stock instead
