Default CPU too slow to keep up with 7600GT?

I got a P4 2.4 Ghz CPU. I'm thinking of buying 7600GT AGP to give one last boost to my pc before upgrading to PCI next year. Is my CPU too slow for taking full advantage of the GT? will it become the Bottleneck?
Should I buy a less powerful (7600GS) card instead?

Your CPU is too slow to take the advantage of both 7600GT and GS

How much ram do you have ?

I dont use more than 1024*768 resolution. not too picky about AA or AF. how much performance hit (in terms of FPS) should i expect if i choose 7600GT?
How about x1650Pro?
(****, i knew i should've gotten the 2.8ghz)
