Cpu issue

Im having a little issue with this new mobo, asus a7v880, that i got for my athlon xp 3000+. I installed it and booted it up and it was saying my cpu was a 1800+ at 1.3g. when it posted and also in Bios it was skipping really bad and slow. like it would take 5-10 secs just to move from one tab to the next or item to item. And it would have to build the page, not just pop up instantly. I was thinking bios update maybe? but its got the lastest revision. So i installed some of the mobo drivers off the cd, and now it says i have a 3100+ xp. but bios and posting is still really skippy and slow. Any suggestions?

did u update the bios? it shoulda come with a CD or floppy, if not go to the ASUS website and update it.
