CPU help or your thoughts

has anyone ever used or have a AMD Athlon 64 X2 4800+ 939??

if so is it good...im currently building a new computer and thats the CPU I wanted to get so any thoughts would be good

I don't think I'd toss the money down on one of those. Maybe, if you want to go that route, get an Opteron 165, or a 4200+. 4800+ prices never dropped much, as they're stopping production of Athlon chips with 1mb of L2 cache. The extra cache adds what ~200mhz of oc'ing would.

the 5000+ is 300 USD.

if you go with S939 I'd get a 4400 x2 and OC the .2 Ghz. but I really would suggest you to go AM2.

i would strongly suggest getting a 4400 x2 and ocing it.
