Right now im doing my first build, specs in sig. I am not going to overclock until I upgrade my cpu HSF to arctic cooling. My question is, will the thermal pad on the AMD heatsink suffice for no overclocking, or should I remove, clean, and apply some arctic silver to achieve a slightly lower cpu temp?

I prefer AS5 or MX-2. Also, please don't confuse thermal grease and thermal paste or you'll have a permanent bond and never get it off heh.

MX-2 > AS5 btw

If you're not overclocking there's no point.

And, the stock cooler is crapola anyway so changing the thermal paste won't make a darned bit of difference.

thats exactly what i thought, its a ****** cooler, im not OCing, and i dont wanna have to deal with cleaning AS off when i put a good HSF on, so im just gunna use pad for now, and save me AS for my arctic cooling soon.
