16gb DDR3 memory (4x4gb purchased for $50 total) Newegg.com - G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1066 (PC3 8500) Desktop Memory Model F3-8500CL7S-4GBRL

The idea is to make a Gaming/ multi-tasking rig that wasn't too expensive with room to upgrade my question is about the AMD Athlon II and Phenom II both quad cores the Phenom is $10 bucks more. I most likely wont OC since this is my first build.
Which is better and why?

The Phenom. First and foremost, if you don't plan to overclock, GHz is important, and the phenom has a higher clock.
Sadly, the newer Phenoms are a bit different than previous ones, they are basically Athlons renamed to Phenom.
If you don't mind a bit of reading, you can read more at the following link.

Build to be updated, a reminder to myself.
