Default CPU: AMD 6400+ vs Intel E6550

Hi, these 2 processors seem about the same money.

E6550 = Intel Core 2 Duo E6550, 2.33 GHz
6400+ = AMD AM2 Athlon 64 X2 6400+ 3.2ghz

the AMD one gets 3.2gh'z im not sure which one to buy. Would that AMD one match the intel?

Yeah im using whatever parts i can with my old PC that will be compatible.

I have 400$ to spend. The website im going to spend it on is an australian cheap website ITSdirect – Buy Systems & Parts at Australia’s Only Service Based Online Computer Superstore!

Ive made several shopping carts that equal around 400$ but i cant nail it exactly whats best.

First setup had a cheap intel motherboard with a Q6600 + 1gb ram.
Second had a cheap intel motherboard with a E6550 + 3gb ram.

Im not getting any cooling except some generic cheap fans. If someone can tell me what processor,motherboard,ram would be the best on that website for less than 400$ please i beg you. Ill overclock it a little bit to be a bit faster, or as much as i can befor it gets too hot.

Whatever system will produce the most frames per second in games, ill take
