actually i was looking at the p5b-e!!! you've just given me confirmation, thanks very much indeed!

The P5B-E is a very nice board for the money with all it's features.

It will OC and perform very similar to a DS3 for about 25 bucks more however it supports firewire and RAID5 and external SATA that the DS3 does not. I prefer it over the DS3 in quality as well.

I have to admit, out of the two I would tend to lean towards the p5b-e.

Yes on games the extra cache has been proven to not matter all that much, if at all.
