Default converter

I have tried some programs to no avail. Im looking for a converter from AVI to dvd format so i can burn my movies onto a dvd. The ones i tried had terrible quality after the conversion.

Anyone know of any good programs?

Thanks, TP

My computer uses 1.5A-load, .8A-idle, .65A-standby, .05A-turned off on 125V.
