ha, even with that being said I'd still get a better graphics card, hd 2900 pro is quite some age old technology. still better than nothin though!

19. 9600GT 512MB
20. HD2900XT 512MB
21. HD2900Pro 512MB
22. 8800GTS 640MB
23. HD3850 512MB
24. 9600GSO 384MB
25. 8800GS 384MB
26. 8800GT 256MB

So actually, the 2900Pro will still do him quite nicely for a good time. The 9600GT is often enough for max settings on all games but Crysis and AoC.

Its enough for me honestly, and its a good card anyways, plus I won't upgrade it... too much sentimental value.. heck I might not even upgrade my CPU

Wow BE X3... didn't know that...

Thanks for that!

Should produce as much heat and peform about the same as the 90nm X2 4600+ you are using now. If your board supports the Agena 9600 Phenom, I would recommend that. Since your not upgrading for a while. But apparently its B2 so it doesn't over clock too well.

I heard there is almost no considerable difference in the triple core, and they weren't worth it. though I have absolutely no experience with one.

Yeah I realize that now. Triple Core just sounds... akward.

Yeah, aparently when they first came out, some small portion of multithreaded programs just locked up after being faced with dividing the load by 3. lol.

I'd personally wait for the 45nm parts
I've also heard Phenom X2's are in the works

That would be nice, how long have those AthlonX2's been AMD's mainstream DualCore CPU for? Time for a change.

i thought those x3's actually performed substantially better than the x2's and at one stage were not far from some if the intels at stock speeds. (excluding wolfdales)
