I built an AMD X6 system with a MSI 890FXA-GD70 Motherboard
Newegg.com - MSI 890FXA-GD70 AM3 AMD 890FX SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard
for a guy and now someone else wants one but he wants to skim a bit, which is fine, Im happy to help. So I was looking at the MSI 790-FX as an alternative and a little off the end cost:
Newegg.com - MSI 790FX-GD70 AM3 AMD 790FX ATX AMD Motherboard
And Im a bit confused as to rather this board will take a 6 Core processor as it clearly says Phenom II X4 / Phenom II X3 instead of just Phenom II as the 890 does. Yet it also clearly states that its (of course) an AM3 and that it Supports AMD CPUs with 140W power requirement.
I know the X6 is still very new so I was wondering if this is just a site update oversite or if the 890FXA is really just the only MSI MB I should use for this project.
Thanks for any help
