Actually, I say never use PSUs that come with cases. Well, actually OTHER people say it, but I quote.

As for cutting the price down, I got you covered. Kill the SLI. You DON'T need it. I'm on a $1000 budget (-I don't need monitor) and here's my set up, with comments relevant to you. I ordered today, but I did COPIOUS amounts of research. Waited months to order.
Sooo.... :
-Athlon 64 X2 3800:
That's what you're getting, that's good. Speed on a budget is a
good think, I say.

-GeForce 7600 GT:
Go ahead with the 7900 if you like, but why 2? SLI isn't worth
doubling the price yet. One 7900 will run everything fine.

-A8N5X ASUS Motherboard
Looks pretty good, half the price because it's not SLI capable.
That way, when you NEED SLI, you can just sell/upgrade your
mobo and add a graphics card. Don't buy them now, at high
price when they're overkill.

-OCZ RAM, can't remember specifics, but it's slower
If you aren't doing serious OCing you don't need that kick@$$
fast Corsair ram. Especially for MaMorpGas(;)) and occasional
FPSs.

-XION II Case
The X-Navigator looks like overkill. Why do you need a
thermostat? And 5 fans? Look at the XION. It's beautiful.
People say they running it cool with ***2*** fans. And
it's all meshy. No hot air. And it's 60 bucks. Not $232.
232 is enough for a good monitor.

-160 GB HD for $80!!! (on newegg)
Why pay more than a hundred bucks for ???74Gigs???
I don't get that. Why's it so expensive? Look for a cheaper
one.

-ASUS DVD drive, $38
Not much worse than your posted drive, and half the price.
And according to the reviews, Plextor suck$.
Plus I got a handy discount on mine with my mobo combo.

-Power Supply (PSU(unit)) ANTEC
Can't see what you picked, you put the wrong link. But judging
by your other choices, it'll be more than you need. Just get
as much as you need, and READ REVIEWS!!!

As for a monitor, you can probably do better than $200 for a nice flat screen.

GOOD LUCK!!! btw I'm using newegg, too. My grand total for a kick butt system was $1015 or something.

Wow man thnx for the advice, the reason I picked that hd because of the rpm speed, and ill prolly do your setup with a few tweaks. Like better ram. Got advice n speakers and monitor? Thnx a lot tho
Sry for spell, I'm on my phone browser.

Alright. My complete set up is on the thread in this forum (still first page) called "Please check my list". As for speakers, I just get what's cheap and works. I don't know anything about monitors, I have a CRT.

because that is a very nice HD. 10,000 rpm is much faster than standard 7,200 rpm. and especially for mmo's (particularly WoW) you will want that. stick with the hd you have if you play MMO's a lot and DEFINATLY keep it if you play WoW.

WoW draws from the hard drive a lot to load textures and whatnot. there just simply isn't enough RAM (even with 2gb) to hold everything it has to show. so its constantly hard drive thrasing to find its stuff and the faster your HD the faster the game will be able to load it's stuff. im sure other MMO's (and i say particularly MMO's because they are most always the biggest play area) have a lot of info that wont fit in the RAM. for those of you who play wow and use a 7200rpm HD, you suffer the most in thunderbluff. thunderbluff has the most MTPSF (misselanious things per square foot :p) and that takes more memory than RAM has to offer.

Oh man, I'm sorry. I have read the rules, it was just a mistake. It did come out way too big. I apologize!

Edit: I fixed it. Please forgive me.
