Default Computer for my father

My dads computer died, and its pretty old so we figure its time to upgrade. He doesnt use it for much, just browing the internet, paying bills online, burning dvd's and a little bit of gaming, he doesnt play anything very graphic intensive, I think his best game would be battlefield 2142

So our budget is about $450 and we need a copy of windows XP(not vista)
I think some of the stuff we can reuse from the old computer would be the dvd rw drive and maybe the power supply.

Please help us build a budget computer, thanks

that is infact a good recommendation..

or he could also go for a motherboard with an onboard X3100/4500 intel gma + c2d E7200 to save money (if he wishes to go with intel) under the same budget

Neither of those would be anywhere as good as Hybrid Crossfire for the price..
