Okay, I'm looking to build a nice PC so I can play games, I use my computer ALOT but I game pretty casually.

Since I multitask often, I'm going to go with a Dual Core, I'll be giving overclocking a shot;

AMD 3800+ X2 - $335
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16819103562

Don't use much space, so I'd rather go with speed and grab a Raptor;

Western Digital Raptor - $146
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16822144160

I want to overclock my CPU, so I should go with DFi, right? I really don't see myself *ever* using SLI, Is going with the Ultra-D alright?

LANPARTY UT nF4 Ultra-D - $128

Pretty case;
Thermaltake - 139
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16811133154

Optical Drive, inexpensive, seems decent;

NEC DVD burner - $38

Not a big fan of cleaning windows, but it's best for gaming - Anyone use Media Center?

Windows Media Center - $130

I need RAM, don't plan to overclock it.

Need help choosing a video card, looking to spend around $300(at least less than $400) on it.

What type of PSU do I get? Should I get a PC Power & Cooling 510 SLI, an Antec? - definately don't want to skimp on this.

I'm giving overclocking on my CPU a shot, so what should I do to keep my Proccessor cool?

Thanks, guys.

Oh, also, any important parts being released soon that I should wait up for?

Well for the mobo since you say you wont use SLI, Get the DFI Ultra-Infinity.

Go for a OCZ or Antec PSU.

As for the RAM.. Go with some value if your not going to overclock.
Check out Corsair, Kingston and OCZ.
They all have good value ram for cheap.

Oh and the video card.. 7800GT.

I dont know how you heard Media Center was best for gaming?
Just go with the version your using now until Vista comes out.
Will also save you some cash.

No, I meant Windows in general, I read that WMC was basically Windows XP Pro with some extra features.

I'm using a really old HP, and I'm not sure where the install discs are, or if I even had them.

Thanks for the help, Execute! :)

get this nice 2GB of OCZ ram

I'll be giving overclocking a shot

uh if your going to OC your going to OC your ram lol

Starting off, I have the Kandalf, which is exactly the same as that case, but has a front door, and it is a beautiful case, very roomy, and is the best case I have. You may want to consider getting the aluminium version though, just makes it a bit easier to move around.

The raptor isn't actually that fast. Nice benchtest here: http://www.anandtech.com/storage/showdoc.aspx?i=2577&p=11

DFI is the best for overclocking, as proven by the multiple extremely high overclocks done on it.

I personally would get normal XP home or pro, what ever takes your fancy :p

I would get the cheapest ram possible (that is PC3200, and comes with a warranty) and get 2gb's of it. Preferably 2x1gb sticks.

For the graphics, this isn't alot over $300... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814130247

I just brought a Hiper type R 580w PSu, and love it. PCP&C are meant to be the best. Antec, Hiper, Seasonic (just won laods of rewards) PCP&C and otehrs are the best.Very wise not to skimp on them. My friends cheap PSU caused my hdd to catch on fire.

If you want water cooling :p But for air, the Zalman 7700cu or aero flower. Don't let the processor get too close to 60*C. Preferablie under 50. Also, buy some artic silver 5 thermal compound, as it is the best one out there.

And if you don't mind waiting half a year, the AMD M2 socket will be realeased.
