I have around $2k to spend on a new computer build. I am looking for suggestions on what should be put in it. I will be using this computer mostly for gaming and i dont need a monitor, keyboard or mouse.

Oooo nice:)

Um get a 4400+ toledo with 2gigs of ram

and something better than a 6800GT+....mabe....

Also mabe how about a 10k speed hard drive?

And a DFI sli mobo

I'm currently looking for parts also for a $1500 computer

If you can go with an AMD FX, go for it. Games don't utilize dual core processors yet so its essentially useless for gaming.

But it might be a good Idea to plan for the future.... Seeing that multi core games will come out soon enough:)

But if you want really good performance like this instant and you don't mind buying different computer parts soon go ahead:)

a dual core performs the same around a 4000+ in gaming

dual core performs way better then the 4000+ in multi tasking

dual core is way better then the 4000+ in general

X2
2GBs
2 7800GTXs
WD raptor and one big one for backup/data

which x2 should i get though? how much of a difference is the clock speed gonna make?
2x 7800gtx, 2gb ram, and an x2 sounds expensive too

well If ya use the shopping cart or the wish list on either newegg or zipzoomfly you can basicly check to see how much it would cost ya:)

And well 2x 7800gt!? I mean really just get one and then later upgrade it.....<==my advice anyway....
