Default Computer Build

Hello all, I made a pc configuration to maybe buy from my local PC club. I'm just wondering if I'm missing anything or if it is decent at all. I'll mainly be using it for gaming, surfing web, e-mail, typing, etc.

AMD Athlon 64 3200+ Socket 939 - Retail

REALSYNC 19" CRT Monitor - Black Real Flat (996F)
http://pcclub.com/product_detail.cfm?itemno=A4622774

GIGABYTE GA-K8NF-9 Motherboard - Socket 939, NF4, PCI-E, ATX
http://pcclub.com/product_detail.cfm?itemno=A4830946

THERMALTAKE Soprano Case - Mid Tower Black
http://pcclub.com/product_detail.cfm?itemno=A1311430

160GB Western Digital Hard Drive - 7200RPM 8MB SATA2 WD
http://pcclub.com/product_detail.cfm?itemno=A3494850

LITEON 16X16 DBL LYR DVD+/-RW W/B RTL
http://pcclub.com/product_detail.cfm?itemno=A1547019

128MB eVGA 6600GT PCI-Express
http://pcclub.com/product_detail.cfm?itemno=A9602761

Sound Blaster LIVE! Dolby Digital 7.1
http://pcclub.com/product_detail.cfm?itemno=A5118272

CORSAIR 512MB X2 Memory DDR400
http://pcclub.com/product_detail.cfm?itemno=A4330213

It all comes down to $ $1,163.90 without tax. But I'm on a budget of about $1300.

Any suggestions would be very helpful. Thanks.

Hmm, it doesn't look like they have a amd venice core for sale. I guess I could put the 6800 in though. Thanks.

Why don't you buy from a place like newegg.com?

For an oldskool newcastle core, that's AWFULLY expensive.

Would the amd cpu i edited above be much better? Reason I don't want to buy from newegg is because I just want to get a computer locally and I'm a noob at building.

Buildings not that hard. The hardest part is actually getting the dam LED Wires in the right places, and on the dfi boards they are at the very bottom, which sucks if you have a big ol winfast 6880 gt in there, and a sound card. But otherwize, that looks awesome. Dont be afraid of building, as long as you lay everything out, and make sure everything is there, youll do fine.

PS The 3200 is the best interms of value to performance, i had one in my other computer, its a very reliable processor, always gets the job done.
