i am not sure about the compressing density, because that is partially based on the program and what type of file you use to compress it. i would like to recommend PowerArchiver 2006 9.51 to you. It is an absolutally amazing program that i have used for a while now (the PowerArchiver, not the exact version) with absolutally no problems whatsoever. i think their at www.powerarchiver.com but you can check out google for their site if that isnt it

WinRAR or 7-Zip

It depends on your files and the amount of compression applied.

WinRar has everything you could need in compression.
