No, just odd timings being set by auto could cause the "OC" to fail with both sticks in.

Just try one stick in the slot closest to the CPU. Look in your manual for the clear CMOS jumper and how to use it. CMOS in simple = bios.

POST stands for Power On Self Test. Whenever you computer starts you sould only get one beep which means that it has succesfully gone through POST. If you hear any other combination of beeps then there is something wrong within the computer.
