hey everyone I am thinking of building a new computer, I just wanted to see what you all thought about it, so I have some oppinions lol. here it is,

Motherboard: ASUS M2N32-SLI Deluxe Wireless Edition Socket AM2 NVIDIA nForxce 590 SLI MCP ATX AMD Motherboard - Retail -$209.99-

CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ Windsor 2000MHz HT socket AM2 Dual Core Processor model ADA3800IAA5CU - Retail -$297.00-

Powersupply: Antec TRUEPOWERII TPII-550 ATX12V 550W Power Supply - Retail -$89.99-

Hard Drive: Western Digital Caviar SE16 WD2500KSRTL 250GB 720 RPM SATA 3.0 Gb/s Hard Drive - Retail -$119.99-

Monitor: Acer AL1916W Black 19" 8MS Widescreen LCD Monitor - Retail -$186.99-

But I dont know what video card or which ram to get, any oppinions?

If you can wait for the prices to drop - do so. I believe that the x2 3800+ is on the list to drop significantly. I also have that CPU, and it is great. I have it OC'd to 2400MHz (x2 4800 speed, though not all the specs).

I am currently using an EVGA 7600GT that I also OC'd (FEAR FPS = 50-70 @ high settings; HL2 FPS = 80-100 @ high settings). If you have the cash, check out the 7900 series.

As for RAM, Corsair and Patriot are both good choices. Corsair's website will provide recommendations based on your relevant hardware and intended use (OC..?)

You might want to reconsider the SLI MoBo. I feel silly having purchased my ASUS SLI board, I could have saved some money... learn from my folly.

Hope this helps. Keep us posted as to what you decide.

ok

Ok So my current build is now this.

I still dont know about the RAM though, I will go look at the site you told me to, and I still need a case, but other than the ram which I plan to get 2 Gigs, is this going to be a good comp?

thanks

Ok so, Syrillian you said to reconcider my choices for my motherboard, why is it that you say this? why should I change it? I am just wondering because I have herd its great, so I was just wondering why you say to reconcider it lol, so, all the parts I listed is everything I need, well I also need the ram so with the ram I am set right? as long as I have a OS mouse keyboard speakers sound card ect....... so is this a good build in your oppinion? and how much dose RAM normaly cost? I was thinking about getting 2 GIGS but I may just get one and get another 2 later on, for 2 GIGs of good ram for this build how much would ram cost? I was hopeing for 100 or less, and if I just got a gig now and two later would that work?

thanks
