nice build personally i think if your not going to do sli then dont waste your money one a 680i motherboard.

look at the ASUS p5b, Abit AB9, Gigabyte DS3

no they are not as new as the 680i chipsets but i dont see th epoint in going with 680i if your not going to do sli.

go with a simpler 965 board and use the money for an 8800gts or another gig of ram

Ok then I am not sure what sli mean, but does any one else think the same way as he does and could you design a system then that would be in my budget like what you said before would really appreciate it . And let me see if I like it, please and thank you in advance.

And for those guys who keep saying get 2 GB of RAM obviously you people didn't read the post and just went to the last post, I said I was going to get another one definately when I get the money.

So, then why not get a ds3 motherboard and use the money you saved for another gig of ram. Then you can buy a 2gig dual channel kit.

SLI is nvidias use of 2 gpu's. It is useless unless you have the fastest card on the market and still want more.

I dont see why it is so difficult to swap a motherboard and swap out one gig of ram for a dual channel 2gig kit. It isnt like you need to completely change your build around.

I would say get a cheaper graphics card from evga, like a 7900gs, then take advantage of their step up program in a couple months.

one thing i don't like about the step-up program (and i may be wrong here i know someone will say if i am):

you have to send them your video card before they send you a new one. and it takes a long time (like 2-4 weeks?).
so, if you don't have another one, then you are looking at 1300.00 of computer that doesn't work.
and they are more expensive (although you do get trade in value) than just buying one outright and selling your old one on ebay or somethin.
jmo.
also i agree get two gigs of ram, what the heck.
and i also say you WILL want to overclock at some time in the near future (especially if you keep reading these forums. ha)
good luck!

Oh ok sli is for people who are going to be using two video cards thanks for the lesson. Well I guess that is not for me then I am only planning on using only one video card. Cause I am not that much of an die hard gamer the games that I am going to play are the ones in my very first post as I said earlier. But still I would like a kick *** system for $1200 I would like to keep some of the stuff from my previouse design unless you guys can educate me more on the good and bad of that product like you did with the sli thing please and thanks in advance.

Ok guys here is more update version of the specifications that I am thinking of getting in January. Since I am planning on using only one video card then I think that the 680i mobo isn't the mobo for me. And in the issue of the other 1GB of RAM I am planning on getting that at a later date when I get some more money, and when I say later date I don't mean like 3 months or so I mean like a 2 weeks or so. So here is the build please and thank you for any other recommendation and opinions.

P.S. - Also I am not planning on doing any Over-Clocking to my system now . (Or maybe think about it in the near future )

Just remember whenyou buy 2gigs of mem at once you get a match pair. Not sure if their is a huge difference buying them at different times....

All I have to do is search for the exact RAM I bought before to have a matching pair so what do you think of the build please give me your honest opinion, please and thank you in advance.
