This is a build I came up and would like to know your honest opinion on it. My budget is $1200 and it has already exceed it by $30. All I am planning on playing with this system is MMORPG's like World of Warcraft, Guild Wars with my girlfriend, a few first person shooters like Counter Strike, and a couple strategy games. As for me putting in 1GB of RAM is due to running low on funds but will put another one in as soon as I get some more money. And as for the mobo I was thinking about getting the EVGA 680i mobo, but on account of there being too many complaints about that mobo and any other 680i mobo. So I will just wait until they work out all or most of the bugs and the price for it gets cheaper. So please take a look at my build and give me your honest opinions please and thank you in advance.

I would say get a cheaper graphics card from evga, like a 7900gs, then take advantage of their step up program in a couple months. Why anyone would buy a vid card right now that is not DX10 compatable, let alone a higher priced one, is beyone me. If you don't want to drop money on an 8800 now, just get something cheaper then step it up once Vista hits the shelves.

As for the mobo, why not go with one of the ASUS 680i boards? That is the most important componant in your setup and it will be more up to date. Spend less on the graphics card and more on the mobo.

Thats the thing I have been hearing alot of bad comments about the 680i mobo, cause I was planning on getting a mobo just like yours but heard that it has been giving alot of problems, would you reccommend anyone getting that mobo.

I go into detail about what I did during my install of this mobo with all the componants that you see below last night in this thread:
http://www.techist.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=135542

Yeah, you have to flash the bios, and get the latest chipset and raid drivers. But I did everything that everyone said to do and I am up and running without a hitch. Just read the order I did everything in and you should be fine. And the mobo has so many great features to it, even if you don't decide to overclock. I will be OCing and benchmarking tonight but thus far, I am perfectly stable and have not had any problems. All the complaints about the board were really problems that happened right away. EVGA has updated the bios, Nvidia updated its chipset and raid drivers. This shows that they are committed to making it a good product and that is another reason I bought it. Their tech-support is awesome, and they will continue to update the board as new features become available. I have always used ASUS boards but this one just looked like too much fun to pass up. Good luck!!

I play guild wars with 1gb ram and an E6300 @3.0ghz with a 7900GS and I get constant so it seems 76 FPS. Even after I OC'd my card from 450/600 to 610/815 no difference which leads me to belive that my 1gb ram is limiting me any further. But none the less, 76 FPS with everything high 4xAA is excellent quality. What i'm saying is a 7900GS is a sick *** card and I have mine running faster than 7900GT on stock voltage. It will destroy pretty much any game out these days and then some.

Ok guys here is the new specifications now I have taken waytoosmall's advice and getting the eVGA 680i for future use and downgrading from the eVGA 7950gt to the eVGA 7900gs on account to it makes now sense to purchase a over priced DX 9 card and will just wait until summer when I have money to purchase a DX 10 card. So here is my new specifications now, so tell me what you think.
