Hey guys I am going to build a new PC for Christmas my budget will be around £800 max. I have put together a list of some hardware options and just wanted to ask for advice on what you think I should get, here is the list:

---

6GB (3x2GB) Corsair Dominator, Triple DDR3 PC3- (1866), 240 Pin, Non-ECC Unbuffered, CAS 9, DHX, XMP £201.46

Vs

6GB (3x2GB) Corsair Dominator GT DDR3 PC3-12800 (1600), Non-ECC Unbuffered, CAS 7, XMP, DHX, DF II £191.64

---
Gigabyte GA-790FXTA-UD5, AMD 790FX, AM3, DDR3 1866(OC), SATA 6Gb/s & 3Gb/s, RAID, USB 3.0 & 2.0, ATX £140.27

or

Asus M4A79-T Deluxe, AMD 790FX, AM3, PCI-E 2.0 (x16), DDR3 1333/1600OC, SATA 3Gb/s, SATA RAID, ATX £136.38

AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition, S AM3, 3.4GHz, 8MB Cache, 125W, Retail £130.33

Vs

Intel i7 920, D0 SLBEJ S1366, Bloomfield, 2.66 GHz, QPI 4.8GT/s, 8MB Cache, 20x Ratio, 130W, Retail £214.10

Asus P6TD Deluxe, Intel X58, Sok 1366, PCI-E 2.0(x16), DDR3 2000/1800/1600, SATA 3Gb/s RAID, ATX £203.75

---

1GB XFX HD 5850 Black, PCI-E 2.0(x16), 4000MHz GDDR5, GPU 765MHz, 1440 Cores, DP/ 2x DL DVI-I/ HDMI £255.97

Going to be running Windows 7 64bit ultimate and want to be able to use dx11.

I have looked at NVIDIA 295 aswell but seems expensive considering the difference in power. Also what kind of PSU I will need for this system would 500w be enough? Would also like to be able to upgrade in the future maybe add another GPU.

Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated thanks.

So the i7 920 is better than the AMD? I read the same everywhere. The place I buy from doesn't sell that board but sells the one I listed I don't mind paying a little more if it will enable me to upgrade/overclock in the future. Is the 1866 not faster than the 1600 memory? I don't mind paying the little extra there either. And just need to know if 500w PSU is enough power for this? Thanks.

Ok so after much thinking this is where I am at now:

x4 - 120mm AKASA AK-191SM near Silent smokey grey value case fan £15.13

Coolermaster Centurion 590 Black - up to eight 120 mm fan, Removable HDD rack, 9 x5.2"/ 43.5" Bays £49.86

Intel i7 920, D0 SLBEJ S1366, Bloomfield, 2.66 GHz, QPI 4.8GT/s, 8MB Cache, 20x Ratio, 130W, Retail £216.40

Asus P6TD Deluxe, Intel X58, Sok 1366, PCI-E 2.0(x16), DDR3 2000/1800/1600, SATA 3Gb/s RAID, ATX £201.45

650W Corsair Professional CMPSU-650HXUK, Modular PSU with 80PLUS Bronze Certification £89.95

Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro v2 - S1366/S1156/S775/AM3/AM2+/AM2/939 Up to 130 Watts! £18.27

6GB (3x2GB) Corsair Dominator GT DDR3 PC3-12800 (1600), Non-ECC Unbuffered, CAS 7, XMP, DHX, DF II £191.64

Total = £1050

I have optical drives and some 7200rpm 8mb cache hard drives I could use.

Any advice greatly appreciated.

Here is the other option that I can afford and get right now:

x4 120mm AKASA AK-191SM near Silent smokey grey value case fan £15.13

Coolermaster Centurion 590 Black - up to eight 120 mm fan, Removable HDD rack, 9 x5.2"/ 43.5" Bays £49.86

Asus M4A79-T Deluxe, AMD 790FX, AM3, PCI-E 2.0 (x16), DDR3 1333/1600OC, SATA 3Gb/s, SATA RAID, ATX £127.87

650W Corsair Professional CMPSU-650HXUK, Modular PSU with 80PLUS Bronze Certification £89.95

6GB (3x2GB) Corsair Dominator GT DDR3 PC3-12800 (1600), Non-ECC Unbuffered, CAS 7, XMP, DHX, DF II £191.64

1GB Asus HD5770, PCI-E 2.0(x16), 4800MHz GDDR5, GPU 850MHz, 800 Cores, 2x DL DVI-I/HDMI £121.06

AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition, S AM3, 3.4GHz, 8MB Cache, 125W, Retail £130.33

Total = £725

Guess the big question is what is the power difference with these systems is it worth the £326 more or not. I could always upgrade the card in the future.
