The cooler included with the cpu comes with pre applied thermal paste that should be fine as long as you don't plan on doing a lot of overclocking.

Also, since you mentioned it, arctic silver is old stuff and isn't that good anymore. You want TX-2 or MX-2.

Would this be a better route? It's only thirty bucks more.

Got the monitor and video card ordered today, gotta wait til tommorow when I get paid to order the rest.

Actually, if you check our Hot Deals thread, there is a promo code that allows you to buy the X4 II 920 for $136 also

If choosing between the x3 and a P2 920, I would definitely go with the quad.
