It did pretty decently with DDR3 1600 RAM, but its pricey as crap

Newegg is out of the G.Skill. This combo includes the 730 and 4 gig of OCZ.

The total for the list is like 591 w/$85 in rebates.

^ skip the combo and get this ram, it's just as fast, has better heatsinks, and is cheaper. $85

i know. back about 1 year ago my dad bought my ram (one in sig) for like $240 and now there is something faster out for like 1/4 of the price.

The OCZ Plat's? I thought you got those when you bought the new board and stuff?

^ i did but my dad bought 2 of them to run on his 790i. turns out the thing was unstable as a ADHD kid on crack with 8GB of ram. so when it was X-MAS time we made a deal and he got me the board and CPU plus the 4GB of ram not being used in the 790i. so now everybody is happy

meh, he games occasionally. he is the one who got me interested in computers in the first place

If he grabs some OCZ gold's like mine then he can crank them up and get much better price/performance than the DDR3 modules.
