If I get a gpu with a hdmi port on it, can it carry sound from the pci-e slot or does it also have to have a sound pass-through port on it? Or will this be dependent on the motherboard?
On my current setup, I had the sound pass-through connected from my motherboard to my second gtx 285, but it has died, and I need another port to connect to my tv.
I was thinking about getting this:
Refurbished: PNY RVCGG2101D3XXB GeForce 210 1GB 64-Bit DDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready Low Profile Ready Video Card - Newegg.com
It has hdmi, so that is good, but I'm wondering if that is enough, I can't tell if it has a place to plug sound into or not. Does it even matter?
