Default can someone point me in a direction on laptops?

I am in the market for a lap top. Mostly it will be used for schooling but while at work or what ever I would like to be able to play games. I want to keep close to $1200 as possible, I know it is prob asking for alot. I dont need it to play games on the highest setting or anything, just want to have the option to play on it.

I would prefer a widescreen if possible, lighter is better but not a nessesity.
