I agree also. And on the other hand it simply isn't a wise use of funds. Do the 3-4 Grand Rig, then in 2 years build another. After 2 years repeat... Send me your old stuff, please.

And to answer some of your questions

Avoid the P4 get the core2 duo.

Raptor harddrives are loud so if you want quiet and fast get some 7200rpm drives and raid them.

Liquid cooling is quiet but you can build a air cooled case that would be quiet to.

No you cannot use a ati and nvidia card in sli or crossfire. Sli requires the same card and crossfire allows you to mix but they will run as slow as the first.

Not even if your a millionaiire...a complete waste of money....buy what Nosboost suggested and get the stuff from newegg.com and put it together yourself...if you dont want to build it yourself, go to a local computer shop and tell them what you want and they will order and build it for you...dont buy a prebuilt anything.....sux..

Go for a high end Lian Li case..this power supply:

And that setiup will last 2years max...then you can upgrade whatever...

ok thanks guys for the advice, now this generates some more questions:

1. Is it true 10k RPM hard drives are noisy??? They are better for gaming though right??

2. When buying a motherboard what should I look for?? One that is compatible with my video cards and RAM???

3. RAID 0 is better than RAID 1??? All RAID 1 does is back it up on a second drive????

4. I can get this http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...034&CatId=1427

so long as my motherboard has spare PCI slots??? Will it interfere with my video cards???

thanks

1. Don't know if they're nosy... but they do load games at rather fast speeds... so good in gaming.. if your impatient

2. Look for a LGA 775 Mobo that supports Intel Core 2 Duo.. they use ddr2 and usually have a standard of ddr2 800

3. Raid 0 i think is data stripping, sorta splits data between the two drives so it access much faster drawing from 2 seperately or something of the sort... and yes, raid 1 is more for protection, data mirror... hope i got all that right

4. no, that t.v. tuner card will work just fine, as you said as long as you got a free pci slow...

The X1950 has been released, and it edges the 7950. I don't know how soon they will be in channel, but two of them in Crossfire gives me the shivers.

According to the review, the new coolers are quiet and efficient.
