Hello i just got enough money for christmas and i finally have enough to buy a good computer!

My spending range is $700-800

This is what i have come up with, i still need the case, power supply, and dvd-burner.

Motherboard ABIT KN8 Ultra Socket 939 NVIDIA nForce4 Ultra ATX AMD Motherboard

harddrive Maxtor DiamondMax 10 250GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache Serial ATA150 Hard Drive

video card eVGA Geforce 6800GS

Which comes out to 655$ all from newegg.

Any suggestions?

seeing that you have more cash, upgrade the vid card to a 7800GT, see if you can pick up some cheap 2 gigs of ram if u dont plan on OCing too much

I was thinking of this case - XG Dragon i think it is off of newegg.. Is it worth it? if not what should i get thats better?

Well, you're making a budget comp for sure... I guess it's for gaming?

Does the price include a moniter and mouse/keyboard, or is it just tower, if it's just tower go with something like....

Aspire X-Plorer Case $60 (lots of colors if you do like it)

Abit K8N Ultra Mobo $100

Evga 6800GS w/ 256mb $195 (dunno how good the GS is)

A64 3200+ Venice $160

OCZ value RAM $70 (Rebate)

200GB Seagate SATA HD $105

NEC DVD Burner (OEM) $40

I dunno about a psu... pretty much try for a 400-500watt one from a decent company for $50-60 bucks...

If you need XP then it's about $80-90 for OEM... but there's not much you can do part wise to cut the cost w/o taking a major step back and requiring a major update later.

Tho you could drop to a socket 754 Sempron and maybe keep the GS or nab a 7800GT but you'd need an over haul in a year or 2... that machine will keep you pretty current within the $800 budget...
