That's because they're not common sizes, among LCD monitors.

I'll go with a 19" screen. Any suggestions?

It's max resolution is 1440x900. Is it good enough?

I never owned a wide screen monitor, never even seen one for the computer. Is it really good? or can it make my desktop look weird, or while watching videos or playing a game? I'm afraid it will make all the things on the computer fat in a sort of way

no it won't, it doesn't stretch the resolution
widescreen is much better in my opinion

Yes...widescreen is better, because it is how we naturally see things, with our eyes.

As Invisible said, it won't stretch your desktop or anything. Just set your resolution to it's native, 1440 x 900, as well as the games, and you'll be fine.
