Yeah, i7's are generally better than i5's (it depends when jumping generations). But judging by what you want to do in your setup, I really don't see the justification in stepping up.

Oddly enough, that RG is my baby due to it being my father's main guitar before he passed away. We had matching guitars and mine fell off the guitar stand onto carpet and snapped at the nut. He gave me his a year later.
I guess you could say under that would be my 81 Voodoo Goth Gibson V Prototype and my RG 170 signed by Skid Row. I don't play those though, too valuable and I prefer the floating trem with trem setter.

Honestly, that's an awesome story and a great memento to have.

KICKASS! I wouldn't either.

Has your band written any music yet? Do you have any to listen to?

I know, I apologize. I'm way off topic here.

Yes we do, early Youtube recordings of a few originals that sound like poop. I'll PM you the links to get the thread back on topic.

A 780 and a 4670k is a much better buy than that, sorry man.

Why would he want to switch to an "un-needed", 6-core i7, and then drop to a 660ti if he's playing games? You wanna be able to buy the best GPU possible.
