For around $350. to $450. you could put together your own pc, and have full warranty on the new parts.
(not including your favorite flavor of windows)

How much would a wireless adaptor be for the desktop cost and do they have to be compatible like everything else or will it just work?

Depends on what you want. You can get USB Wireless N adapters for like 20 bucks, and you can find PCI-E wireless N for 20 bucks too.

Would one work better than the other or same results?

A card will provide better signal due to more external antennas.

I will buy one than for my board. Hopefully the board has another pci-e slot thats unused.

Question: Should I buy this from my friend's aunt?

20'' SCEPTRE
res:1280 x 1024
50$

Comes with power cable and dvi cable.

It sounds pretty fair for the price, but I am sure that brand isn't anything known though. What do you guys think?

The resolution is extremely low for a 20" monitor. Sounds like a CRT honestly.

Ask them for a model number and a quick Google will tell you everything you need to know. If it's a CRT, I would have them pay you to take it off their hands.
