well i was thinking of opening my own lan place as well but since gaming isn't really big here then.... i couldn't but i was thinkin of buying low end mid and high end pc's low end ones for internet users, mid range for average gamers, and high end for serious people, i was also thinking of charging more for better comps. also building yourself could be cheeper (as well as pirating lol the place that went under here did) and it might be fun to build all those comps. but yeah this will makeyou able to buy more expensive comps, since people just using the internet won't be using 8800's lol

Heh... Good Idea... :) the one that cost $2650 on that GCCO page is good but no monitor.. the one that cost 1999 seems good..Maybe I should buy a few like u say :) ..For internet users and for gamers... (i dont need some for mid gamers lol if ur a gamer then ur a gamer. Simple :) )
...
What about the internet? Australia is full of **** ISP's lol..Can u fill out this form and do a search for me please?? I donno what type of net u will need especially when all the Wow players flood the place.... I cant get ADSL2 in the area YET.... so ADSL1 or cable it has to be.. maybe when i open it i Can get ADSL2.. Anyway the state I am in is Queensland... Regional 1

Doesnt some of the software and components limit only 1 or 2 to a customer?

i don't want to be messing with all your money but what are your clients going to be doing? will you be allowing downloads/KaZaA/Limewire/Torrents(might get you in trouble) are your gamers going to be playing online??? or only on lan?as you can see i thought about this alot but i don't have a lot of capital due to us buying a new house soon. i had blueprints and expense accounts and everything but i think my girlfriend threw them away also ask yourself, is this going to get aq lot of business?

With the location I am putting it in..Yes i think it will.. X zone (the net cafe near me) makes over 5 grand a day!! and they charge 5 bucks an hour for computer use...

Im planning on getting Unlimited internet.. Fastest i can get in that area so far is only 2048/2048 yet.... Maybe I can ban torrenting? X zone allows any internet use.. Except pornography and illegal stuff..But they dont really care if they walk past and see u downloading a movie or something...Gamers going to be playing online and LAN.. Online=- WOW and other RPG.. LAN= CS, BF. all those types of games

Forgot to ad: X zone has their little 'Mini OS' that runs off the windows kernel...I think all net cafe's do..Anyway it has a really cool GUI lol.. It has a games menu.. All categorised (Action. RPG. Adventure. Etc) ....and when u pay u go to the front counter... and just say how much u want.. the guy puts it on ur account.... You can get membership over there.. (meaning when u log out the remainding minutes u have left will be there next time u log in) ..... ummmm.... Yeah the time/Money u have left in ur account is in the task bar... when u play games u get a message in the last 5 minutes of ur time.. then when it hits 30 seconds it tells u its gonna log off in 30 seconds etc etc.. I havnt been to many net cafe's but X zone has got to be one of the most advanced one their is.. They have 50 computers..so im hoping when i make $$$ I can buy lots more.. Thats why im going to rent a big place...

If your idea is to set up a business, like a gaming center, or an internet cafe, then you're going to want to look into having someone reputable do it for you, like yourself, or perhaps Alienware, or Voodoo.

ALSO, if you can't afford right of the bat to buy "good" computers for this place right off the bat, then how do you expect to attract a large numbers of customers, make a profit, pay the rent, etc.? It takes more than good intentions to run a profitable business.

Well I have enough to get around 30-45 Computers... And the rest I will keep for the setup of the place.....I was thinking of alienware..But they are like 6-7k each for a good computer
